Can you count the number of login and passwords that you have for your all of your accounts? Personal, work, finances, memberships, etc. If you are like me I have no idea! But for some reason, I can remember most of them when needed, or
those that I frequently visit because my brain has memorized these letter and number combinations over and over. It never ceases to amaze me how powerful our brains can be and the capacity to which we can hold information. I recently studied for an exam and I felt as though I crammed so much information in my brain that it was in information overload. I knew there was absolutely no way I was going to retain all that information but guess what I did!
So it got me to thinking about all of the things in our lives we rely on as resources. We have accounts, we have planners, we have books, we set reminders, we have calendars and schedules. All of these resources help us to get through our day, and complete our jobs and tasks in our careers and home life. But what about when we need a reliable resource when we need help in our finances, our marriages, our single hood, our parenting, our faith, our grief, when we need hope. I am here to offer you this word of surety. Isaiah 41:10 says, So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Here we are reminded that God is always there for us as a resource. So guess what? We have full access to a 24 hour resource without logins and passwords! Now that’s the best news I’ve heard in a long time. Woohoo!! It is the good news. You better believe that when I needed to figure out how to find time to study for my exam, encouragement in parenting, advice in my marriage, a word of encouragement for my single friend, I tapped into the most powerful, and present resource that you and I have full and hassle free access to. He doesn’t require us to reset our password, He doesn’t require us to remember our login name or email, He just asks us to open our mouth and call on Him. So I leave you with this today. God is resourceful. He has the answers you and I need. He equips us with what we need, and His word confirms it for us in 2 Peter 1:3, “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness (NIV).”
